Photos from the exhibit “Vermillion, Scarlet, Crimson, and Burgundy: an Exploration of Red Dyes in Coverlets,” curated by Lauren Lamendola. The artifacts in this exhibit posses distinctive uses of red dyes to create brilliant, eye catching patterns. The history of red dyes is as unique and interesting as the coverlets themselves.
